......there was the first International Research Conference on Autism held at Durham University and organised by The Autism Research Unit.

Well many things have changed, progress made and lives altered by the events of the last quarter century. There are nearly 2 billion more of us populating the planet for a start......and of the 7 billion plus people alive today, how many are on the autism spectrum? Current prevalence estimates of 1:100 would suggest approximately 71 million...that's more than the total population of Spain and Australia combined.......we definitely still have our work cut out..!
